Parental Involvement

Concerned teachers and informed parents are the rule and not the exception at CDCA. There are many opportunities for parents to help make this a better school for their children

, and parents are encouraged to be involved in their children’s education. Those who are, find it rewarding for their children, the school, and themselves.

We have a Parent Organization which meets monthly to administer special activities, field trips, guest presentations, parties, family functions and fundraising for special projects.

Our marking periods are only six weeks long in the lower grades (many schools have 9 week periods) which give parents more frequent feedback on student progress. Also, our teachers are encouraged to call and write parents about special needs or reports.

We have two scheduled Parent/Teacher Conference nights planned each year for parents to meet with teachers. In addition, parents are encouraged to set up appointments as necessary.
